2018 Joslin’s Annual Halloween Party for our members and their families.

Dear Students/Parents,

We will be hosting a Kids Halloween Party for all of our members and their families on Tuesday ,October 30th. The party will run from 5pm until 8pm and everyone ages 4+ is invited!

The kids will have some time to check out each other’s costumes before we begin playing a bunch of fun Halloween themed games. After the games we will be showing the Movie “Hotel Transylvania 3” (review below) on our big screen.

Children are encouraged to wear their costumes and to bring a pillow, blanket or sleeping bag to use while watching the movie. If any children won’t be watching the movie they are welcome to come and join in on the games and costume fun which begins at 5pm. The movie will be starting at 6:30pm. All children (ages 4-13) that pre-register will receive a Goodie Bag from us at the event.

Please sign up in the office by October 24rd so that we will have a goodie bag prepared for your child/children. Also, please bring 1 Non-Perishable Food Item on the night of the event for our Food Drive. Thanks!

My staff and I are looking forward to a super fun night with you and the rest of our team.

Sensei Jeff

Movie Review: Hotel Transylvania 3
— the third film in the Hotel Transylvania series — follows Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler) and his monster pals, including his half-human daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez), and her family — on a luxury monster cruise vacation. There’s a bit more scary stuff/violence here than in the previous films; much of it is comic, but there are some tense chases, crashes, and confrontations, a creepy robot/human hybrid, and a long sequence involving an enormous sea monster on a rampage. Expect a few mildly suggestive remarks and moments — butt jokes, buxom witches chasing after an elderly vampire in a skimpy bathing suit, etc. — and a few unflattering depictions of female characters, like a beautiful witch on a dating app who turns out to be a warty troll. There’s also a fair bit of romance in the movie, but it’s limited to flirting, dancing, and a couple of kisses. Positive messages include embracing diversity, letting go of negative feelings and grudges, believing in the power of love, parents and kids communicating with each other, and the importance of parents reconnecting as partners, not just co-parents. Best for: Kids ages 7 and up
